After the events of trials of Apollo, another ancient evil stirs against them. The great manipulator rises. With Percabeth torn apart and Jason dead, the seven aren't the same powerful.
Another one of the seven dies, and they turn to the ancient knowledge bearers, The Nine Muses for help.
But will things be same without the two main heroes? Will Annabeth be the same? Will she still be able to lead, or will someone else have to emerge as the leader to fight the evil.
