The flow of things

"Sadness will not kill you. Depression won't, either. But fighting it will. Ignoring it will. Trying to escape it rather than confront it will. Denying it will. Suffocating it will. Allowing it no place to go other than your deep subconscious to embed and control your will. Not that you'll take your life or destroy everything 'good' you do receive (though you might). But it will kill you in that it will rob you of every bit of life you do have: You either let yourself feel everything or numb yourself into feeling nothing. You cannot select emotions. You are either in accord with their flow or in resistance to their nature. In the end, the choice is yours."

- Brianna Wiest

Find a seat and make yourself comfortable. You have entered the mind of a girl facing the world and all its fixtures.

So sit back, relaxed, and look! The day has started and with it all her thoughts.

In the end, if you can find comfort in the knowledge that you aren't alone in these kinds of things, then the book has served its purpose.

[COMPLETED] Indigo always had problems, but when her father committed murder-suicide against her mother, she had trouble keeping those problems under control. She had a fear of the world. Everyday actions were feats for her; going to high school, socializing, even falling asleep at night. Of course, her greedy aunt was no help. She felt hopeless. Until she met Nate. Nate had problems of his own. All his life he's had trouble staying focused. He wanted to believe he was normal, but it's hard to think that when you're brilliant in class and... not so brilliant on paper. He didn't want to have A.D.H.D. He tried to pretend he didn't, but there was something rooted deep inside him, telling him he wasn't good enough. He felt useless. Until he met Indigo. When Nate met Indigo, all he wanted to do was help, but could she reveal her secrets to him? Could two wrongs make a right? Quickly, Indigo and Nate developed a relationship that neither thought was possible for themselves to have. Could Nate help Indigo move on from her past and defeat her demons? Could Indigo help Nate accept himself for who he was and hopefully help him pass English? Originally a NaNoWriMo novel, The Way the World Ends revolves around two teens just trying to survive high school and hopefully understand themselves and the words of T.S. Eliot. *** warning: some sexual content, brief violence, language, and sensitive topics. TW: this book may contain mentions of violence and of suicide. DISCLAIMER #1: I wrote this story when I was a teen and while some mental disorders are the focal point, they may not be accurate representations as I was far from being a psychologist. There are several things Lynn doesn't quite get about the world she lives in, which makes it harder for her to figure herself out. She is not your average teenager. She's young, intelligent, though something about her is off by now. Everyone is quick to misjudge and point fingers, everything and everyone is so corrupted that she's afraid she'll lose herself among a bunch of wandering, empty souls. Therapy can only help so much, depression is hard to die, and in Lynn's case it's caused solely by the fact she doesn't 'fit in'. She can't really find her place in the world. But there's something really special about her; Her dreams are haunted by a wonderful, mystical place. No one understands her, they think she's off her rocker, that she needs to cut her childish daydreams. But Lynn knows deep in her heart that place really exists, and she'll do anything to find it, with the help of some new found friends. There's only one thing she must do: Keep an open mind, it brings open hearts and open eyes. -- DISCLAIMER #2 This fanfiction is inspired to Mind Over Matter by Pvris and their lyrics in general. All you read here is fiction. every reference to real events or people is purely coincidental. I do not own the songs featured in the book. Credit to Pvris for the titles of the chapters. 2015 © Run-Dont-Walk

44 parts Complete Mature

~ got a girl with california eyes and I thought that she could really be the one this time. But I never got the chance to make her mine because she *is too* in love with little thin white lines ~ They say beauty is pain but is it really? Is less always more? It seems to be that way, at least for Taylor Swift, who strikes to meet every beauty standard there is to meet. In the world of fame she lives in, her drastic weight loss doesn't go by unnoticed, and only hours after the final show of her successful Eras Tour she finds herself in a psych ward, forced to face her relentless struggles with food. Not long after the events of the famous singer being dragged to the psych ward, Maeve - a homeless drug addict roaming the streets of LA - is met with a similar fate as she wakes up in that same psych ward after an unintentional overdose. How will things work out for them? Can they win their internal battles? Will they make each other's lives even more miserable in the process or could they actually find comfort in one another?
