A stale war of attrition is hanging over the lands of Yulon.
Magic is reviled, its users hunted by a newly emerged power: The Faith.
Archibald, the son of small-town merchants, is among those ravaged by the war, his brothers and father taken from him by the conflicts to the north of their homes.
He finds himself mixed up with great political powers as the king of his home country dies suspiciously and is replaced by a staunch supporter of The Faith, a new religious movement set to take power in Yulon.
This brings the conflict to him and he must do all he can to fight for himself and his friends - for all Yulonians. The fate of the kingdom and the continent hang in the balance.
