Aurora was Elena's fraternal twin sister. Growing up Aurora mainly followed Elena's lead. They had been as thick as thieves until their parents died. Elena had even been the one to give Aurora her nickname, Rory. Elena was in the car while Rory was with Jenna and Jeremy. After the crash, they had grown apart and they grew even further apart when the Salvatores came to Mystic Falls.
