Carina and Maya's dream is to become parents. The two struggle to conceive, Carina starts to believe that she's the reason they can't have children. It takes a toll on her, she misses a few days of work, Maya tries her best to be there for her wife while still being able to get her work done. On one call Maya saves the lives of a couple of kids at a foster home fire, she becomes quite close with one of those foster kids. Maya tells Carina all about the girl, wanting to really become parents to someone special they take the girl in. Then the unthinkable happens when Carina takes a pregnancy test a few months later and they are more than happy, a beautiful daughter and a baby on the way.

Carina has had her own fair share of trauma and if anything she never wanted to try to fix another person.
