Y/n comes from a family where people with gifts are a 39% possibility, and all but one of y/n's siblings are gifted with their own powers. Y/n was gifted with extraordinary power; however, it has caused them the most trauma and suffering. Their parents are both killed by their powerless brother's wife, who blamed his mother for him not being special. The wife was taken to jail, and the brother was to care for his 8 younger siblings and his newborn son, however he took his own life, leaving the children all to the care of the Madrigal's. An old family friend of their grandmother's, moving from Venice, Italy to a remote town in Columbia.
