Hood Poetry
Sixteen-year-old Jada Fields-better known as Jae-has spent most of her life trying to survive the realities of poverty, violence, and being overlooked. Growing up in a neighborhood where dreams rarely make it out, Jae pours everything she feels into her notebook, turning heartbreak, anger, and struggle into powerful rap lyrics. When her freestyle videos begin gaining attention online, music starts to look like more than an escape-it might finally be her way out. But with pressure from the streets, problems at home, and people suddenly wanting a piece of her success, Jae quickly learns that chasing a dream can cost more than she expected.
