This is about my journey to finding me written as a narrative. Inspired by my 5th grade English teacher (Shad Latson) whose lead me to find myself in my writing.

I wrote this story when I was in elementary school. I won't be taking it down because it took me a lot of time and effort to write and it was the beginning of making long stories for me. It is *heavily* inspired by Maximum Ride by James Patterson.Concluída

Altered
Have you ever met someone who alters the course of your life? For good or for bad, they've come in, given and taken, and then- BOOM! Your life was never the same. There's always a change, an altering of reality. When you meet those people, the reality that you've known your whole life is suddenly gone and a new one has taken its place. When those moments happen, there's no going back. You can try to return to the way things were but nothing, and I mean nothing, can take you back to exactly how it was. That's what happened to us. I think that's why we're still trying so desperately to get back to some sort of normalcy. Four years later and we're still on the ground, crawling, in search of the happiness that was lost that June. Summers will never be the same. Midnight walks through my neighborhood will never be the same. Field parties with bonfires and loud music will never be the same. I still don't know why you left and what lead you to the decision you made. What I do know is that we're here. We're alive and we're pushing forward to the future. A future that you're not a part of. But in some ways, I'm glad you're not a part of it. I just wish it wasn't like this. *** TRIGGER WARNING*** SA, abuse, suicide, substance abuse, and mental illness. This is a complete story that is much like life; fast, full of surprises, and not always how we want it to be. This has been a project of mine for over three years. It was self-published on Amazon, but after some issues in publication, I decided to just upload it on here. I hope you fall in love with these characters like I have. The friends in this story are trying to make names for themselves, figure out who they are, who they can trust, how to love, and how to separate themselves from a restrictive community. A Love Beyond Names
How did we get to this? Or rather, when? After you, I realized that time, circumstances, or simply us, because we are not perfect beings, but we try to be the best version of ourselves day by day, can be destined to be together and last as long as we are willing. Nostalgia flooded my body when I passed by our quiet, lonely, and green park, the one that welcomed us when we were together, just you and me. I saw that old, worn-out bench sitting empty; it was impossible not to remember the afternoons we spent there, laughing, dreaming, enjoying each other's company. From the moment I saw you that coincidental day, I knew that love had finally arrived in my life, and I will continue to stand by your side as your wife until my body can no longer go on.Concluída
Chasing Zero
What lengths would you go to in order to achieve your dreams? Spencer has always seen the world through numbers. While they watch those in negative numbers strive for positives and those in the positives risk everything to stay in the positives, they long for the simplest of numbers: Zero. At Zero, they will experience true tranquility and feel at peace with themself. To help reach as close to Zero as possible, Spencer writes books, novelettes, poetry and more. By sharing their experiences as an agender person living with a mother who doesn't understand them (nor try to), they hope to inspire others and assure them they are not alone. When Spencer is given the opportunity to work with a publisher and publish their own book, they are determined to write a romance book proposal that no one will want to turn down. The only problem: none of their ideas are authentic enough. Since Spencer never felt the need to date before, their writing teacher encourages them to pursue romance to help inspire their book. While Spencer is determined to not date anyone, they are willing to give it a try for the sake of their writing. And when they find out their cute classmate seems to be interested in them, they decide to see where their blossoming relationship will go. The story is about me and my journey through life. It always seemed to me somewhat self-indulgent and egotistical for somebody to spend time writing about their life and then expect other people to read it. I am not a writer, something I think all my English teachers at school would have concurred with-I was a mathematician-but I felt obliged to write my life story after my inner world conspired to write a response to the problem of Being. My Philosophy of Being is original; it flowed from my life journey over ten years like a stream from its source. I knew that if I were to reference my primary source, I would have to write it first. We're All Going To Die
In 2015, I quit my digital marketing job at Nike to take a solo road trip around the country, funded by driving for Lyft in each of the cities I stopped in. In the beginning, I thought that driving for Lyft was simply the key to supporting the trip financially. However, I soon found that the dynamic of having strangers jump into my car to talk about life for 20 minutes or so, under the context that we would probably never speak again, was the most powerful piece of my year off. I was so inspired by my passengers that I wrote a book about them, called We're All Going to Die: Lessons Learned From My Year Road Tripping As a Lyft Driver. My passengers became my biggest teachers in what, lo and behold, turned out to be a year of personal growth and self-discovery. I learned the value of more listening and less ego. I saw how hungry people are for real human connection and conversation in a world more digitally connected and emotionally isolated than ever. I took the time to face my own issues, including my father's suicide five years earlier. I began to understand how important it is to be human - to feel your emotions, to share those feelings with others, and to find lightness and humor in the hard stuff. What became most obvious to me was that at end of the day, we're all going to die anyway. This book is a story about my personal growth, supported by the stories of the many people who trusted me enough to jump into my car and open up their hearts to me.Concluída
