What would you do if you had another life that only one person knew about? Sammy is eighteen and is having a wonderful-ish senior year. Well... until she got a new job. She became the protector against monsters. Her father was one before her and his mother before him and so on. Sammy's mom died when she was sixteen by "unnatural causes" they called it. Boy, they didn't know how right they were. After her dad mentally died of grief, she became the Defender, and she is anonymous to all but one.
