Red, the favoured champion of the Kanto and Johto region, suddenly goes missing one winter. This impacted the lives of the people around him, especially Blue Oak. However, no-one knows the reason why to this day.
One vacation to Johto leaves Blue with various unanswered questions related to Red's disappearance. One of them being the new uprising of team rocket, now referred to as Rainbow Rocket.
With the help of many around him, Blue uncovers the leadup to Red's disappearance whilst also trying to find the main source of Rainbow Rocket.
Will it be too late for his best friend?

A - The book crosses over with @Bossun24 's Pokemon Leaf Chronicles for 6 chapters. The crossover had been planned 1 year prior to its publishing. Q - Why is Leaf replaced by Lyra? A - Leaf is not replaced by Lyra, both characters are different in their own ways. I wanted to get Leaf out of the picture for a different kind of character growth. Lyra is Red's cousin sister, with Red being an experienced trainer, he acts like a mentor to her. Q - So time travel happens in this one? A - It does, and its fun how it plays out. Q - Who is this Masked Man? There was a masked man in the manga too. A - While the idea was original, a mystery man who structures every Team Rocket plan and assists Giovanni. I was shocked to see that the manga had someone named "Masked Man" as well. Q - Who is this Masked Man? And why is he important? A - A mystery man controlling every aspect of a criminal organisation and has been the true mastermind of Giovanni's every plan? Sounds pretty important to me. As for his identity, I was very unsure if I was ever going to reveal it as it was not very important at first until the second book was coming to an end.Complete
