"I can," The deity confirmed, smiling softly. Their lips twitched upwards with pity, a knowing gaze in their eyes. "I can bring back one who you've lost, if that's what you'd like. I owe you my life for what you've done... perhaps I can repay that debt through giving a life back to you."

So Leonardo held out a hand towards the deity, tears in his eyes yet with a voice as strong as steel. The deity took his hand, palm burning with a cold heat searing pure emotion straight through his skin-unnatural, yet right, and they smiled. They had no lips, no mouth to speak from, yet Leonardo simply knew.

"Please," He pleaded, "Bring Michelangelo back to us."
