When seventeen-year-old Lacy runs away from home, the last thing she expects is to be kidnapped by the cops. But that's exactly what happens, and before she knows it she's being taken to a secret base hidden even from the government, where the police force protects the Marked: a group of super humans with unbelievable powers. But will Lacy's lack of emotion affect how she fits in with her new "friends", and a mysterious boy named Mikhail who seems to have taken a special interest in her? And does Lacy even deserve to fit in with these people, seeing as how she doesn't have powers at all?
