Of all the students in Asheville High School, Waylen Acker has got to have the worst luck. Forced to take after-school tutoring lessons due to his poor grades in algebra, Waylen begins enduring Friday (and occasional weekend) algebra lessons taught by the only guy who seems to hate him with a passion... and if that's not bad enough, now a transfer student from out of the country who's just Waylen's type (handsome, smart, etc.) leaves him falling hard and forced to confront past memories easier left alone.
