A collection of short stories (between 500-2000 words) set in a land covered in lakes left by the dance of two deities. Each story is a blade of grass in the marsh of Saltaire. They stand on their own but are all connected to those who look under the surface.

"In the last hour, while reorganising the bookshelves in the little office, Kai had played out thousands of ways to decline her. Foxtrot Slope wasn't a place for a wizard. Surely she'd understand." - A Sunset Tower

"A pinprick of light turned into a flash, and Calux, a deity of heat and light, came crashing down like a comet. An earthquake shook the fragile ground, their impact sending dust and sand flying for miles." - A Dance of Lakes

When Kaz, Rhenor, and Elaya finally come across a friendly city, everything seems promising. The people are welcoming, the strange, new food is good, and through hunting, they can make more than enough money. But things don't stay peaceful for long. A few days after their arrival, Kaz runs into someone he knows from the Capital and gets a grim warning: everyone in the city will soon be killed and so will Kaz if he doesn't leave soon. In an effort to stop whatever is supposed to happen, the trio investigate. But with little to no clues, can they discover what is going on before it's too late to stop it? [word count: ≈ 24 000 words]
