A poem about myself. I am a trans non-binary individual who used to have the name Scarlett. It's as though the name is a burden that I carry on my shoulders now, wherever I go. So without further adieu, enjoy the show!

When hardship is experienced, it is only human of us to think on the past. Sometimes though, we end up in a cycle of rumination, reliving events that cannot be changed; we become depressed in our memories. Writing can be therapeutic, so here is a collection of poetry exploring a range of sad and confronting memories. By sharing these poems, I hope to not only further my journey towards peace with the past but to connect with others out there who may be feeling the same way. This is a collection of poems by a ruminator for ruminators.
