The last survivor of a vault experiment reaches the surface of the new radiated world before him.  Using only his knowledge learned in the vault he transverses the wasteland of Appalachia where he meets the cruel new challenges that come with living day to day.  After meeting a bounty hunter and brotherhood of steel knight, these unlikely allies come together to take on what remains of the old world government and the possible return of the deadly Scorched plague that once tormented the land.
