Ashley Camerella used to watch the clouds as a kid. Her and her best friend, Alec, loved watching the clouds, birds, planes, anything in the air they would study.
One day Alec came up with a theory. If birds could fly maybe they could too. Ashley laughed at him. She knew people couldn't fly. But the two of them still fantasized about growing wings and ditching their community.
Of course looking back its just child's play. That's what Alec told her. As he grew up his intention to leave grew less and less. Ashley could see between the lines. She knew what was real and what was fake. She hated how she was living.
Her world changes when she meets Kai. He has the same want to leave. Ashley experiences a lot and just when she thought maybe she could live in this community she was brought back to reality. Will Ashley and Kai make it out alive? Or will they die trying?
