Because of the mayor's memory ball had appeared her something and in Kaye’s blood, her parent’s blood was mixed. So she thought it for few minutes if she’s powerful to accept or not to accept. Shadow could easily take all her problems away, but Melody refuses to take the easy way out. That is, until she just couldn't take it anymore, she takes Shadow's offer and soon her life got better. Her bullies started disappearing, showing up dead in the woods. Their bodies badly mutilated, almost unrecognizable. Life at school started getting better, she finally had human friends and even a boyfriend. Her "father" was found dead at her house. The torture had finally ended.
