"There you two are," we both turned to the voice, alarmed." I grabbed the small gun that sat on my thigh just as quickly as Sophia let go of me. "Oh, hey, come on now," I realize that it was Ria, with her hands in the air for surrender. "Please put the gun down, Alex," she grits her teeth.
"S-Sorry," I stutter, lowering the firearm.
"Did you need something?" Sophia speaks, turning around.
"Damon and I were just wondering where you went off too."
"Yeah," Sophia and I look behind Ria to see Damon. "I think I saw those roaches."
"Roaches?" Sophia and I ask in unison.
"Sorry," he walks up to us and stands next to Ria. "The 'decimation confederacy,'" he says with air quotes.
"Where?" I stand up quickly.
Ria Turns behind her and points, "About a mile that way. It looks like they're coming this way."
"Should we turn off the power?" Sophia speaks softly.
"Maybe, but not that far that way," Damon points to the left, "A zombie hoard shuffling this way."
"They're going to meet, aren't they?"
"Exactly."
"What are we going to do?"
