"The world never seems to slow down, does it? How long do you think it'll all last?"

Early morning conversations always seemed to be the ones that made you think the most, or the ones that made you cry. It wasn't abnormal for the two young adults to sit on the top of the old apartment complex before dawn broke, saying whatever thoughts popped into their minds. Sometimes the two of them would bring up snacks or warm tea, and watch the sun rise. Or, on the most common occasion, they'd fall asleep looking up the stars, their knuckles brushing against each other's as they dream about the world beyond what they knew.

The two women lived in the mid-sized city of Nightingale for a long time, Lilyth for longer than Skie, seeing as she was born there. Skie moved to the city to live with her uncle and aunt when she was seven, due to a horrible accident in her hometown. Lilyth was the first to befriend Skie, and they've been inseparable ever since.

Now the two of them lived just down the street from eachother, Lilyth in the old building they met up on, and Skie in a much newer building down Seacrest Avenue.

"Would you let me be a bird with you?" Skie asks quietly, making Lilyth jump out of her thoughts. She turns her head towards Skie, before nodding. "Off course, silly. What kind of question is that?"
