All the signs pointed to it a long time ago, and if it wasn't enough evidence then, it definitely is now. 

William Afton had rebuilt his best friend as an animatronic. 

And the guilt was eating him alive. 

An au where after losing everything, William falls into despair, and his final straw was when his best friend, Henry Emily, killed himself. 
Basically it is how Henry died in the Five Night's at Freddy's book series, but this takes place after William's kids and everything die (not Michael tho-) and after he survived one springlock incident. It's just my changed version of it, you'll understand if you read it.

The stress of him possibly making a return was too much, so you make the bold choice to drive over to the small town where it all started, and make sure that doesn't happen. You stumble across a certain someone on the way, who happens to have a similar motive to you; and unbeknown to you, who also has a deep history with the man you both aim to taking down.
