All the signs pointed to it a long time ago, and if it wasn't enough evidence then, it definitely is now.
William Afton had rebuilt his best friend as an animatronic.
And the guilt was eating him alive.
An au where after losing everything, William falls into despair, and his final straw was when his best friend, Henry Emily, killed himself.
Basically it is how Henry died in the Five Night's at Freddy's book series, but this takes place after William's kids and everything die (not Michael tho-) and after he survived one springlock incident. It's just my changed version of it, you'll understand if you read it.

Not to mention, how terribly Evan's death is eating him up inside. Henry isn't sure exactly what to do about it, but he promises Michael that he will do whatever he can, and at least provide a safe place for the grieving teen to escape to. Within time, the two grow closer, and Henry knows that now he cannot let go of the one person who has not yet fallen by William's hands. (This is a roleplay between me and a very close friend. There will be different timelines and AU's, but I will write a short explanation of the surroundings at the start of the chapter. Description for both of them: ▪︎Henry is short strong man with sand-coloured hair and ocean blue eyes liked among people and is nice and open. He cares a lot for people that are close to him and is the only one that scolds William for not being careful (and getting away with it). But he has problems with trusting people too much, making him vulnerable and easy to (mentally) hurt. ▪︎William is a tall British boy (of course), has dark brown hair with a purple stripe and grey eyes (silver shade of grey). Introverted, feared or disliked by a lot of people and also has some sanity issues. He doesn't like opening up and despises hanging out with a group of people. He only has a soft spot for Henry and is only gentle and caring with him. Even if he dislikes something, he would actually bear it if it makes Henry happy.
