All the signs pointed to it a long time ago, and if it wasn't enough evidence then, it definitely is now.
William Afton had rebuilt his best friend as an animatronic.
And the guilt was eating him alive.
An au where after losing everything, William falls into despair, and his final straw was when his best friend, Henry Emily, killed himself.
Basically it is how Henry died in the Five Night's at Freddy's book series, but this takes place after William's kids and everything die (not Michael tho-) and after he survived one springlock incident. It's just my changed version of it, you'll understand if you read it.

He only has a soft spot for Henry and is only gentle and caring with him. Even if he dislikes something, he would actually bear it if it makes Henry happy.
