Harry Potter is at the Dursley's for all of a week before his godfather comes for him.
Sirius Black, recently exonerated, is determined to keep his godson protected from those who would manipulate him, or worse. To keep Harry safe, he's willing to do anything. Even something he swore he would never do - take up the mantle of the Lord of the House of Black.

Along with sharing this information, he sends Harry the Potter family Grimoire and the Potter family amulet that was inside a trunk that his parent's made for Harry. After putting on the amulet Harry's looks change and all the blocks on him are destroyed.
