Josephine "Jo" Newton is the rhythm guitarist for Caleb Covington's legendary house band at the Hollywood Ghost Club. Playing her instrument, cruising the streets with her friends, and living it up with Caleb should be a dream. But all Jo feels is trapped. She plasters on a smile for the crowds and for her friends. Only one person sees through that smile. 

Reginald "Reggie" Peters showed up in Julie Molina's garage with his two best friends where they learned they'd been dead for twenty-five years. As Alex makes new ghost friends, Reggie becomes more and more intrigued with the pretty girl with the false smile.
