Blake. She's alone. It's the apocalypse. She is a survivor. Having carved out a life for herself in her remote sector of the forest, she has no interest in ever venturing out again, no urge to risk her life, no want for something more... Nothing of the sort. She is alone, and she's happy that way. Until the nearby village seems to wake up to her existence, and her power. She can't face them alone. She can't. It's certainly not because she's lonely. It definitely isn't because she feels more and more depressed by the day. And it certainly isn't due to the pure hotness of these random people showing up on her doorstep, no sir. She needs help. And, alright, she can admit it, she probably needs company too. Her reflection is starting to drive her up the wall. But only a little bit. Most of all, she needs to get used to having these beautiful creatures in her space, invading her solitude and turning it into something much better. A harem-nay. A family. Will she take a chance for family? Alright, we all know she probably will. The real question is, would you like to come with? This is my first book, and I'm posting as I write to keep myself motivated. I am a teenager, and consequently, not hugely secure in my writing just yet, so please be kind!

It's been five years since the plague struck. Leah knows there are other survivors, but she's avoiding them. She is doing just fine on her own. Surviving after everyone she knew died has made her physically strong and honed her intelligence, but she is emotionally devastated. There is nothing to fear if you don't make yourself emotionally vulnerable. James has spent the last five years helping to build up a colony of survivors. He believes in the small town they have populated and its mission to save humanity from extinction. He and his small team of men find scattered people and bring them in. Over the last two centuries, women have fought for and won more and more rights, gaining equality with men. Society, law, and technology bolsters and enforces these rights, but now they are gone. Women's equality with men is over. There are just too few of them. They aren't lesser but greater, more important, more valuable than men. Men are expendable. Men can stay outside alone if they like, but all women must be brought inside the safety of the Colony and properly taken care of. James has been searching the area Leah lives in. Her time of solitude is up. Leah sparks something in James he's never felt before. He's not letting this one get away, certainly not twice.
