(I wrote this book a while ago then deleted it. I decided to rewrite because I happened to like the concept and the plot in mind. If there are any stories similar, I apologize because I didn't know. For all I know this is one of a kind.)
It's finally here. The 100th hunger games. I always feared this day since I was never reaped. 3 years ago when I turned 12. There's no dought in my mind I will be reaped but I know with my skills I can overcome it. The only problem is, my parents Peeta and Katniss Mellark, are coming with me.

"Look, it's your favorite color." I point at the light orange of the sunset. I hear a faint rustling, and I turn over to see Peeta looking at me instead of the sky. "You remembered," he whispers. "I remember everything about you," I reply, repeating his words to me. I expect to regret my honesty, feeling like I've shared too much. But I feel like I haven't shared enough. I want to tell him everything about himself, to prove just how much I remember. But I don't. We just watch each other until the orange fades into dusky blue. ➳➳➳ In the years following the dismantling of the Hunger Games, Katniss rekindles the fire between her and Peeta. Over time, they grow back together, relearning to love every part of each other. Moving on from the war isn't easy, especially when Katniss still revisits her greatest fears and worst memories every night. But Peeta is always there, keeping the nightmares away, keeping her safe. However, though the world is changed, it will never truly be safe. ➳➳➳ The years following the war. Post canon, basically what leads to the epilogue. When I was eleven. My whole world changed. Katniss' dad died in a mining accident. You think it wouldn't affect me but I loved him just as much as Katniss did. Maybe even more than I loved my own father. I felt bad, that my own dad couldn't compare to Katniss'. He loved me too though. Loved me like his own. The day he died was the first in a long line of times I have ever seen Katniss cry. She never cried before then but she cried a lot after. Katniss' mother was suppose to get a job after his passing, she didn't. They were starving, dying. I decided to help. After school I would drag Katniss into the woods by her feet. We'd never gone in there without her father. It seemed like a scarier place without him. After some time it wasn't so scary. I don't know what made me volunteer for Katniss. When I heard her name echo throughout the crowd my heart stopped. It wasn't my name, but it was my best friends. There was no way she could survive in there. She had a family, a sister to take care of. I thought my parents could live without me. The name Effie called next was the only name I prayed and prayed I would never hear her say. Peeta Mellark.
