Evelyn Haven is a regular fourth year Ravenclaw that attends Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. She's a half-blood that plays Seeker in her Quidditch team since last year, and has a best friend named Will Yaxter, who is a Metamorphmagus, that also brothers an annoying eleven-year-old named Donovan, who is head over heels for Evelyn. She also tutors two friendly twin Gryffindors in third year, Ginger and Nasir Teller, and crushes on a fifth year Muggle-born that the twins introduced her to, named Carlos Morales.

But when a fourteen-year old boy named Bane Manson comes to Hogwarts much late for his age, life seems to turn around for Evelyn. He befriends her on the Hogwarts Express and gets Sorted into Slytherin, much to his and Evelyn's slight surprise. He gives her sketchy tips in Potions that end up with great results, teaches her spells that are unheard of, and even shows her his wand, which is most peculiar.

During this, Hogwarts becomes different. The Hogwarts Express shuts down midway to the castle, the enchanted ceiling of the Great Hall becomes solid, Carlos Morales disappears, and Will stops talking to Evelyn, while the castle quakes every few days. What is going on to the castle, and is Bane behind it all?
