Can Bruna forgive her dead mother? She'll realize the cycle of generational trauma can be broken but the process of healing may destroy her.

Seven Headless Chickens is a short story inspired by the complicated relationship between my great-great-grandmother and my great-grandmother. Both Chinese, both abandoned on the other side of the world by my great-great-grandfather. Both victims, both villains, and both my ancestors.

The truth is that I would have liked to know them better and be part of the Chinese community in Panama. All that ancestral past was lost because they both left us a long time ago.

Rest in peace Abuela Chocha & Abuela Rosa.
