We met in our freshman year when I was still pinning for a boy from middle school. I thought I like you twice in the time we went to school together. We grew up together, we fought, we laughed and you were my best friend even if I can't really tell you that. Everything came full circle, falling for a guy who I should have been with the whole time and you staying by my side as I go through the hardest thing I've ever faced.
Thanks for being my best friend, Dorkus. This is my letter to you, even though I don't think you'll ever get to see it.

"Why are you doing that!" she whisper-screams while her eyes flit to the other guys, who are now immersed in something else that isn't us. I kiss that spot again, making her whole body shiver. It's oddly entertaining to watch what my slightest movements do to her. Usually it takes a lot more for a girl to unravel this way, but her breath hitches each time I go to kiss her neck. An Unexpected Moment
... that changes everything Sarah was starting her junior year of high school. Looking at herself in the mirror, she saw a pretty average blonde haired, blue eyed, teenager. She was neither in the popular group, nor one of the many cliched outsiders. Sarah was a nobody. She liked to blend in and lay low. It was her way out of not only this town, but her house. No one knew it, but her father was a high functioning alcoholic that often took his anger out on his family. With her older sister now in college, it had turned to her more often. Laying low in general was a good strategy. Across town, Ryan was prepping for his final year in high school. While he wasn't the stereotypical quarterback of the football team, he did fit into the popular crowd. His sports of choice included basketball and soccer, either of which might line him up for a scholarship next year. Ryan had a group of close friends and a lot of adoring acquaintances. It wasn't easy juggling his athletics and keeping the grades up, but he was just that good. The supporting parents didn't hurt either. It might be a cliché romance, but it will be fun to see what the year and beyond holds. ------------------------------------------ This is a story I wrote years ago, or at least partially wrote. No doubt, eyes never fail to deliver the messages of the heart, but sometimes opening up gradually on every wonderful occasion can be more vivid. Bright and I always had something between us that I never talked about until I went to university this semester. This time, the unspoken between us was no longer unspoken. We've been friends since grade school. Best friends at that. Never did anything without each other. We can't imagine being separated. Well, actually, we can. Ever since high school finished, we've been going our own ways, but we did make a pact. To meet up again for the two weeks that include our twentieth birthdays.
