A lone boot sat on the back deck amongst the chairs and the grill and all the other typical back deck commodities. Out of the corner of her eye, Estelle saw a movement. A shadowy, black figure moving around near the far edges of the deck where the light didn't reach. Estelle blinked and the movement stopped, and she looked back over, and the boot was still there.
Someone was here, lurking in the shadows of her backyard.

Guess Who?
In the sudden silence, the only sound was the thud of her heart and the whisper of fabric as the unseen figure closed the distance between them. Strong arms wrapped around her waist, and she felt a hand splay against her neck, gentle yet firm, sending a jolt of fear and unwanted excitement through her. The music remained off, and the crowd froze like a paused painting, their collective breath held in suspense. The warm breath on her ear sent shivers down her spine as he murmured, "Guess who?" His voice was a dark symphony, a promise and a threat wrapped in one seductive package.
The Taking
Every half century in a small little town hidden in the woods, a beast comes out from the forest to claim his bride on the night of an eclipse. The people of call this phenomenon "the taking". This beast is said to be very dangerous. It roams door to door searching for the woman whose being calls to his animal instincts. He will kill, mutilate and destroy everything in his path until he finds his bride. In the past, the townsmen have tried to hunt the creature and kill him before they can steal one of their marriageable daughters, but the beast does not hunt alone. He has followers among the shadows to make sure his goal is accomplished. Once he finds his bride, he carries her back to the forest where she is never seen or heard from again. Celeste believes this so-called "legend" is just some scary fairytale her grandmother made up to scare her. But was she ever wrong when a pair of moonlit eyes stared straight at her through her bedroom window and entered her room. She had been scrambling towards a sudden drop! The hands hauled her back, but she still struggled. She didn't want to look at it, and she still wasn't sure she wouldn't rather take her chances with the open air instead. "Stop it, I'm not going to hurt you! You'll hit your head on the rock or something. Wren, please!" It knew her name. Somehow it knew her. She was going to die! "Let me go! Stop touching me!" She was sitting on the rocky floor now with her back against an uneven wall, and it was trying to pin her down and hold her still. She kept her eyes turned away and struggled helplessly, but it was no use. It was strong like a human man too, and she couldn't keep it off of her. The wings had moved until they curved around them both and shut out a lot of the light. Its face was so near hers that she could feel its breath brushing against her skin. "Please just look at me for a second. Just look. I'm not going to hurt you." One of the hands grabbed her chin and forced her head to turn, and then she was looking straight into a pair of dark brown eyes. It had a human face too. She had been expecting something monstrous or ghastly, and the surprise made her falter for a moment. He looked young, with a bad haircut and an earnest expression on his face. "I'll let go of you, okay? Just don't lunge around like that anymore, you'll get hurt." He whispered.Concluída
Witness
A teenage boy is listening to his music early one morning and sitting by his window. As he enjoys the scenery, he witnesses something quite disturbing happening just a few feet into the woods across from his house. He sees a figure clad in black, knock a woman across the head repeatedly before dragging her into the woods. Many moments later, he comes out of the woods.....alone. The person looks around and then, for some unknown reason they look up at the window where the boy resides. The boy backs up, he was sure to be seen. The person takes off.. What will the boy do?
