"You lay claim to them as though your toys, but come the day they break, you toss them at others as blame. You are the true trauma in their heads, the sickness they all feel. A disease."
(Though not used in the story, I kept this bit as a premise to the setting and tone.)

A telling of Dr. Jareth Lavender's meeting with a rebellious teen and the spark that led to the greatest war he'd ever faced.

Though I do not feel very proud of the story, it's the first one I'd ever completed, so I thought I'd post it on here in chunks. Let's hope I remember to--

Note: It may look like horror on the cover, but I assure you it is not. I'm purely experimenting with some things.

Hi Readers, Before you read this book, I just wanted to say that I am currently in the process of rewriting this story. Changes, whether they are big or small will be applied and things will most likely be cut. I am looking towards making this story more consistent since its not evident in the first draft. I hope that you will continue to support this story nevertheless of the changes made. Kindest Regards, Christine *** Prologue "She's here! We've found her!" The girls parents came racing over to the river bank that separated the two werewolf packs. "She's not breathing! Why isn't she breathing?!" The man pushed the woman out of the way gently and leaned down to check the young girls breathing. He put one hand on the girl's chest and started compression. He checked the girl's breathing again and continued with compression. The girls started to cough up river water. The man pulled her swiftly to her side so that she could expel the rest of the water out through her mouth. "Oh, honey!" the woman gathered the girl up in her arms and squeezed. The girl looked around disorientated. There were strange men and men from her own pack standing around her. "What happened?" She murmured. The woman looked down at her daughter with tears flowing down her face. "You nearly died." *** *Check out the rest of the prologue for more* #1 HigherPower #1 EpicBattles 2# Flames 2# PackMates 36# Power Copyright © All Rights Reserved 2020 NeoNixButterfly21/Christine Copyright © All Rights Reserved 2021 NeoNixButterfly21/Christine Copyright © All Rights Reserved 2022 NeoNixButterfly21/Christine ~ All chapters hereafter are protected by copyright. The soulmate gift by constellation201
40 parts Complete Mature
••• Oh yeah, I think I forgot to mention, some of us humans are "gifted" as we like to say, in short, we have powers, well most of us do, anyway, powers that only show themselves when we turn 18. That's why an eighteenth birthday is such a big deal. Please note, that our powers come in all shapes and sizes. From elemental magic, to mind control, mind reading, time traveling, and even shapeshifting, and many, many, more. Even though some humans don't get powers, it's still better than getting what is known as The Soulmate Gift. What is it? You may be asking yourself. Well... It's when you can see what your soulmate sees and when you can talk to them mind to mind. Why is this such a bad thing? It only appears when one of the pair is in danger or is about to marry or spend their lives with someone other than their soulmate. So yeah, heartbreak is definitely present in the equation. And yes, you've guessed it, I, Amelie Diamandis, have the Soulmate Gift. And the fire gift. Which should be impossible. Isn't that just great? Oh, and my soulmate wants nothing to do with me....I think? ••• For as long as humans could remember you either got one gift or nothing, it's impossible to have two or more. A human with more than one power has been unheard of. Until today. When two people, destined since birth, break history with powers destined for destruction and a destiny that none can fathom. ____ THIS IS A FIRST DRAFT #167 in magic out of 270K 2021-12-05 #6 in high fantasy 2021-12-06 #21 in meant to be 2020-07-10 #43 in epic fantasy 2020-07-10 #31 in gift 2020-07-10 #31 in mate bond 2020-05-06 #58 in loneliness out of 12K 2021-12-02 ____ This story contains mature subject matter such as violence, reader's discretion is advised. ___ I couldn't find the artist that made the girl on the cover, if you know who it is please send me a message so I can credit them :)

The Flame Wars: Reading My Older Work

7 parts Complete Mature

So when writing stories you need to make sure logic is your best friend, like the BFF of your whole work because sometimes (or like all the time) without logic...you're screwed. Ever had that moment you read what you have written when you were younger and wonder, "What the heck was wrong with me back then?" Well, if you did, I am happy we can relate because I had the same experience. This story follows my reactions to a previous story named Diary of a Casually Normal Life that I have made back when I was thirteen years old. The time I had sadly broken up with logic while making this story happen. It is not finished but, it is still funny either way. The Flame Wars now begin!
