"You're finally awake," said a curious voice. I look around and pinpoint the person's location he is across from me, but I don't look him in the eyes in fear for the worst to happen. "What am i doing here". "Well you are here for trespassing on private property and running from the authorities." "What do you mean trespassing how was supposed to know I was trespassing? I am not from around here. And I only ran because they were running and shouting at me."

I was walking to the grocery store when I thought some one was following me I turned around and saw no one there so I brushed it off by the way my name is Lara and I was being followed by someone my whole life! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I WAS about to turn the corner when someone grabbed me and used their hands to cover mt mouth. I struggled and managed to push the person off and started sprinting down the street, yelling 'HELP'. I turned back to get a glance at the man who attacked me. I saw his face and it was Der!!! "What the hell Derek!"I shouted " I was scared shit-less that it was a kidnapper or murderer or gang member" It was NYC, who knew what happens at night and what kind of dangerous people are out there. "Shh"he said and covered my mouth. I bit his hand and he removed his hand from my mouth. "Ah, what was that for?" he yelled, his eyes getting darker as he pouted and rubbed his hand. "I don't know what you're up to but you're so being dumped"I told him. He was acting crazy and it was driving me insane because he wasn't telling me anything. He growled and ran towards him with his hands out wide to try and grab me, but I turned and kicked him in the leg as he fell to the ground. "Ha take that I took karate" I said proudly as he was groaning. I was a black belt student. I started sprinting when I turned the corner I saw Derek again with his eyes as dark as the night sky. What happened to his blue eyes?! "But you w-we-were- right there and n now you're here what? and w what happened to your eyes?"I kept stuttering. He seemed so brooding and dangerous and he didn't seem like the Der I knew and loved. Before I knew it, darkness succumbed me.Complete

I didn't want to find out my whole life was a lie. I just wanted a bloody promotion. Guess fate had other plans? **** The cold air fanned over my face as I opened the door. The exit door lead to the back of the building so it was pitch black. I leaned against the wall trying to control myself. Blood was running down my arm and head. My hair was stuck to my face from all the sweat and blood. Everything was spinning around me and the ground seemed like it was shaking. Groaning I sat down and put my head on my knees. He knows who I am. He knows how I look like. He knows where I work so possible knows where I live. I am not safe anymore... no where. While I was in my own world I heard faint sounds behind me but I didn't bother to look or run away. The footsteps got closer and I was pretty sure it was Walker's men. I should run. I should try to fight. But what's the point in trying to run away? He would eventually find me and if he has his way he would most likely kill me. If this is my fate then why am I trying to fight it? I felt someone harshly grab my waist and pull me up and I complied. They dragged me down the alley and into the busy street. I heard the opening of a car and the next thing I knew I was being thrown into a car. My head hit the hard leather seat and the door shut behind me. Maybe this is how my life will end. Maybe I should just let it happen. Maybe I was destined to die alone as a no one. With that I let the darkness consume me.Complete

Jasper stiffens in his seat as I press the metal of the blade against his back. "Don't say a word. Come with me, right now." Of course, he doesn't listen. I had hoped a dagger to the kidney would be incentive enough, but even the threat of death doesn't graze a Devereaux ego. He turns toward me to argue, facing away from the goon that's been eyeing him across the bar. I doubt he even noticed. The man whispers something to his sketchy friend, pointing at Jasper. No time for discussion. I grab his arm and press the tip of the knife harder, just barely breaking the skin. He winces, realizing I mean business, and gets up. The idiot prince seems to finally get the memo, running alongside me until we're a safe distance away. "What the hell was that about?" his ragged breaths take the sting out of his words. I've never seen him like this before. Cheeks red, chest heaving, hunched over himself on the stump of a tree. For once, he looks like an authentic person. Of course, this is merely an illusion. Jasper Devereaux is an arrogant, entitled dirtbag, nothing more. I can't believe I just jeopardized my favorite trade spot for him. He demands to know why I pulled a knife on him instead of just telling him he was in danger. I explain to him that the reason for the dagger was glaringly obvious if you consider the way he acted when I did use it. If he was willing to argue with a blade against his skin, there is no way he'd have left that place in good hands if I hadn't forced him to. I can't help but laugh at the audacity of him to be angry with me for how I chose to save his life. "You really haven't changed." His head snaps up at this, and I see his eyes searching my face. Of course he doesn't recognize me. For me, it was super traumatic. For him, it was just another day. "What are you going on about?" "This isn't the kingdom, Jasper, these peasants aren't at your mercy." I see the blood drain from his face, and recognition clicks in his eyes.

No matter how hard I try to deny his touch, my body responds exactly the way he wants. My spine arched and my eyes snapped close. Have you ever walked outside at night? When it's so dark and you can't see a thing at first? I often do that and I'm never afraid. Because I know that after a while my eyes will adjust to the dark and I will be able to make things stand out. I'm always safe. I always know where I am. But not today, it was so dark, all I could see was a suffocating darkness around me. Aria my wolf huffed in annoyance when even she couldn't see a thing or couldn't pick up a scent around us. 'Ophelia, what's happening?' she muttered. 'I don't know' I whispered back aloud. The words had barely left my mouth when I heard something running quickly in our direction. But I had to. I had to go. I couldn't let him be hurt because of me. He would live on now, and I would marry another. He finally did and when he unlocked the car doors I jumped out and hurried to my apartment not looking back at the devil in the car. I finally reached my apartment panting and shut the door sliding down my door crying hysterically, I could still feel his cold lips on me. What did I just witness tonight. What did I get myself into. I was scared of the future because I knew surely he would be back to check on his Queen.
