Earth has become consumed by a deadly parasite known by survivors as Sludge.  Victor, a posh gentleman clad in a white tailcoat, managed to save around a country's worth of people.  He successfully escorted them to a safe haven named the Beanstalk he'd created.  This safe haven holds six city sized plots of land tangled in its branches.
Victoria(Vic) Violet, a twelve year old girl, has spent her whole life on the Beanstalk.  But unease troubles her. 
Despite this life being all she's ever known, Vic can't help but have an extreme hatred for Victor.  She believes this 'gentleman' may, in fact, be a malicious monster.  Perhaps he's even responsible for the current state of Earth.  Is Victor really the savior of humanity, or at the root of everything?

Vic Violet endures many life altering events on the Beanstalk.  She'll have to push past the limits of her humanity to uncover the truth hidden within the Sludge.  Who is Victor and where did he come from?  Is Victor really connected to the voracious parasite attacking earth below?
