SUMMARY: Valkyrie (Val) Gilbert, is Elena's older sister, however, Val has an IQ of 188.  She had graduated high school at 16 and had gone away to college for 2 years.  Now 21 and having graduated college with 4 different Doctorates, 2 different PhDs, and 2 different Master's degrees, Val decided to return to her home in Mystic Falls.
