Gary Oak, the quintessential city kid, is forced to move to the small town of Pallet, his uncle insisting that it was a great opportunity for him. Gary knows it was just a plot to get rid of the troubled kid with too many issues to count, but it's not anything new. With a smoking addiction, prickly personality, and shitload of unresolved trauma, he befriends his greatest opposite, Ash Ketchum. Ash is a town boy, born and raised in the quaint place. He grew up with his single mom, pet mouse, and a fuckton of friends. With secrets almost nonexistent in this town, he finds out about the new kid from the city moving into Professor Oak's place. With a bubbly smile, love for animals, and a past creeping up behind him, Ash falls in love with Gary Oak, his complete opposite. And against all odds, Gary Oak falls in love with Ash Ketchum too. Of course, their love lives are the least of their problems right now.
