Here's to the beginnings of something I hope to add to over time. In this work are samples of flash fiction which I hope might inspire you, the reader, with an idea for a story. I would be honored if you take any part of what is written for your own purposes and enjoyment. Instead of a one-liner story prompt, I hope these glimpses into worlds and brief introductions to random characters and scenarios will help some of you out there needing just a little bit of a jumpstart. 30 Days, 30 Stories: A Writing Challenge
This is a 30 day writing challenge, a collection of short stories. I've always been a world class procrastinator. The goal of this challenge is to get me writing regularly and, hopefully, break me of the perfectionist thinking that often paralyses me. The Rules: 1. Write and publish 1 short story (flash fic, vignette) per day for 30 days. 2. Stories must be at least 100 words. 3. They can be of any genre or subject matter. Like a lot of writers I have notebooks lying around full of random story ideas. Most of my older ideas are for novels and screenplays. Been going thru my old ideas and picking out the ones I think lend themselves to the short story format. I'm also working on coming up with NEW ideas that I can use here. Never been good at using prompts, but this is a good opportunity to experiment with those. All the stories here are original works written specifically for this challenge. This story will be a collection full of random stories inspired from writing prompts off the internet. I take no credit for the prompts I find, but I'm simply using them to create cool short stories to share. Oh, dear. By day, they wear a mask of evil and power, but you've seen what happens when the cape comes off. There's some serious darkness lurking in their private life-self-loathing, quiet pain, and way too many late-night mood swings. But don't worry, the villain's got it under control... or so they think. You thought their love story was one of those sweet "enemies-to-lovers" kind of deals, until you saw the truth from way up here. It's a mess. Betrayal. Anger. Love. Secret identities.
