When John Watson moves into his childhood home, he finds that both the house and his neighbors have remained constant. In the effort of raising his daughter and living a normal life, John struggles to understand why his ailing neighbor, Sherlock Holmes, has yet to move out of the home that caused him so much childhood pain. Little can John understand that his old neighbor finds the world more frightening than ever, for while the old demons of his childhood had long since died, the new demons come to haunt him may be lodged within his own mind. *Trigger warnings!!* Discusses mental health issues, gender and sexuality, and self harm. Typical high school Teenlock fic where John is a BAMF and Sherlock is an alluring, intriguing, mysterious character with a haunted past. The more John tries to get close to Sherlock, however, the more Sherlock's past prevents him from letting John in. Still, John is patient and tries to help Sherlock work through it . Trigger warning: this fic deals with self-injury, thoughts of suicide, and sexual abuse.
