❗️DISCONTINUED ❗️ Amity Blight is the definition of perfect. She's popular, a straight-A student, the captain of the soccer team, and yet she's not happy. She's gone through her whole life following the rules and doing what she's told, but will it all be worth it in the end? Luz Noceda is the opposite of perfect. She's an outcast who's seen as awkward and weird by her peers, and her only friends are the characters she reads about. It isn't easy being one of the only openly queer kids in her school. All she wants is someone to understand and love her for who she is, but will that ever happen? The two couldn't be more different, but when fate (or the science teacher) brings them together, will they form an unlikely friendship, or maybe something more? --- In this AU they're all humans, and they're also two years older for story purposes. --- You can expect: rivals to lovers but mostly friends to lovers, angst, fluff (eventually), mutual pining, found family, gay panics™️, Luz being oblivious, Amity having a sexuality crisis, etc. All before having a happy ending, don't fret, my child! --- Not intended for children. [Disclaimer!: I do not own the Owl House or its characters.] The students knew what the "Day of Unity" really was. Their parents didn't believe them, but as long as it was stopped. It wasn't a problem. Well, until Emperor Belos decided that they were too exhausting to be left alone anymore. A barrier was created that day. The rebels took the Knee half. Belos took the Head half. It couldn't be flown over. There was no way around it. One would need to walk through to get to the other side of the broken Isles. That journey was too dangerous to be done. Forcing both sides to keep to themselves until it came down. No survivors were recorded, fueling the rage towards the rebels. As one of them was accused of creating the barrier. This unstable, involuntary truce would not last forever. All either side could do was prepare for the increasingly violent fights between small groups. And ultimately, the big one that would determine the victor. Unraveling the lies, or keeping them intact. [A/N: This concept is partially inspired by the concept of Shadow and Bone: the fold.
