Gale Traylor was once a sweet, innocent  Xirxine Northeast intern, bright-eyed and eager to learn all that she could about the world of the anomalous hiding in plain sight. But that all changed when she actually ENTERED the anomalous--or rather, the anomalous entered HER. Possessed by Cthylla, Gale--now known as "Mirage"--created the Opening with her cousin Vision, unleashing terror and destruction upon the Earth as the Inner Gods spilled from their world into ours. However, the timely actions of the Protectors and Vision's rebellious host not only saved Earth from utter decimation, but also saved Gale from the control of Cthulhu's daughter. Now Gale struggles to find what she'd lost to the fallen Old One, grappling with the nightmarish visions and dreams that plague her day after day. But she's not the only one who suffered at the hands of the Great Old One and his offspring.

Autumn Sky and Anikova Anosova both had their own unfortunate experiences with Cthulhu and Cthylla, respectively. Together with Gale, they walked the road of madness and chaos, their minds warped and twisted by the Old Ones. Thankfully, the road to recovery lies just ahead... but it may prove even more difficult to travel than they think.
