The epic tale of the company of Thorin Oakenshield has been recounted time and time again, an adventure unlike any other Middle-earth has seen. The story of how thirteen dwarves and a hobbit reclaimed the great kingdom of Erebor is not easily forgotten. The telling you may have heard, however, left some things out, maybe even someone. It would seem that through the many retellings, an elf was deprived of her deserved glory within this tale. This is the story of Laerornien, the daughter of Thranduil, the sister of Legolas, and the forgotten fifteenth member of the company of Thorin Oakenshield. In an attempt to save her people from the wrath of Thrór's dragon sickness, the elven princess sacrificed the heirlooms of her kin, the White Gems of Lasgalen. The consequence was banishment from her own kingdom. Sixty years later, she left her lonely sanctuary in Rivendell as a member of the company with her trust put in their leader, who had promised the return of the gems. The dwarves travelled with a common need to reclaim their home, and those gems would ensure the return of her own.  Those who know the story know the grim end, but Laerornien's place in it deserves to be told. Her sacrifice did not end with her surrender of the gems, but with something much greater, and it saved the kingdom of Erebor when the final battle seemed lost. This is not the story you were told, but it may just be the story you were meant to hear.

I dried her tears, and her sobbing slowed to a stop. She took a shuddering breath and hugged me tightly. "You promise?" Míreth said quietly. "I promise," I whispered back. I held her tightly. "When I come back, we can live a happy, normal life together. I will come back. Alright?" I hoped the word together would hit a nerve. I did. Míreth pulled back, new tears of hope in her eyes. When they started spilling down her face, I dried them quickly with my shirtsleeve. ~*~*~*~ I do not own any of the Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit characters. I only own Míreth and the characters I made up. ~*~*~*~ I changed the cover and title. I thought this would be a bit more related to the story. Just letting you know, so if you have this book in your library, you won't freak out about having a new book you never saw in your life there. :)

A routine patrol escalated and Aearon soon found herself separated from her brother and the rest of the Teleri forces, pursuing a group of dark creatures that tormented her lands. While carrying out her duty, Aearon found herself at the mercy of the cold Prince of Mirkwood and King Thranduil himself. Finding herself locked in Thranduil's dungeon, the she-elf soon finds herself becoming friends with the most unlikely of creatures who steer her life on to a whole new path. Accompanying the group of dwarves to their home, Aearon finds herself battling both foe and feeling as she struggles to survive the dangers of middle earth. It had all started like with most Elven lives, though, with a young child living with her parents in a home, like all Elven children did... Míriel wasn't an ordinary Elf in the world of Middle-Earth. Her exceedingly powerful magic made her a danger to not only herself and others, which lead to her isolation from the outside world. However, when Míriel encounters a company of Dwarves she is soon drawn into their adventures to reclaim their homeland.
