She awoke to the sound of groaning chains, straining and cracking under pressure. At first, her eyes were heavy, awkward. It was as if she was awakening from her death, as if the girl was awakening in spite of the fact that she was sleeping. Her muscles ached and her stomach churned with the cranking of the metal that seemed to encapsulate her. Upon finally peeling her eyes open, she was unsure if she had indeed succeeded. Darkness surrounded her, leaving her completely defenseless.
She attempted to pull herself upright, her head spinning and her eyes closing in hopes to calm her queasy stomach. Although she seemed awake, the thick fog of sleep still clung to her unconscious brain, making her reactions slow and her thoughts jumbled.
A crash ricocheted through the small space where she was, the chains screaming to a halt, and a red light is switched on. The sound of buzzing neon is deafening as she sits up, desperate for a look around. She squints her eyes in an attempt to focus them, to take in the complete scene unfolding in the eery glow.
She quickly realized that she should've continued sleeping.

While waiting for their series to begin filming and eventually be released, I wanted to imagine what their story might feel like - to give fans a small taste of the emotions, tension, and romance we might see on screen. This adaptation follows the same general premise and conflicts of the original novel, but it is written purely from my imagination. The characters keep the names Lena and Miu instead of the original names from the novel. Since I haven't been able to find a full English adaptation or translation of the novel, this story is based only on the summary and a few excerpts I have come across.
