Despite being given everything she could possibly need in life, Désirée Lavoie is struggling to figure out what she wants. Toeing the line between what she thinks she wants and what her parents expect means studying to become a lawyer by day and dating hot-jock, bad-boy Donovan Murdock by night. Things go well until news of the two together at a party reaches her parents.
To avoid blowing her cover, Désirée blurts out the only lie she can think of: that she's dating the buttoned-up, parent-approved Matías Cortés.
