Thranduil knew that most in Mirkwood thought his absent Wife had been killed by Orcs in the battle of Gundabad so long ago, that most would call it farcical to even hold onto hope and keep her throne, but there was a reason that there was no grave. Neither Thranduil, nor any of his men had ever found Queen Lothuialdes' body. The search that descended upon the battlefield was thorough, but no corpse was found, and through this the king was brought the ever-sneaking suspicion that his wife had been burned after her death as a symbolic gesture of the utmost disrespect for the Elvish Kingdom.
However, through all of the impossibilities, however far fetched it may have been, there was always a tugging inkling of hope in his mind that maybe his Queen had not been overcome that day, that just possibly, she had escaped.

Shadow of Mirkwood by elven-archer
34 parts Complete
In the heart of the cursed Mirkwood Forest, Legolas, the prince of the woodland realm, is haunted by an inexplicable feeling of being watched. Unbeknownst to him, his every move is shadowed by a female elf (I am not going to reveal the name), the enigmatic and fiercely skilled general of the Mirkwood army, who has vowed to protect her prince and her king - Thranduil. Legolas, however, remains unaware of her presence. Every midnight, she cloaks herself in secrecy and ventures out to meet him, masking her identity. Under the cover of darkness, she observes him carefully. Amidst the looming threats of darkness creeping into Mirkwood, the unlikely bond between Legolas and the general becomes both a source of strength and vulnerability. When news of the One Ring's existence and its devastating power reaches the woodland realm, Legolas, along with a fellowship of brave companions, embarks on a perilous quest to destroy the Ring and save Middle-earth from the clutches of darkness. In a tale of hidden identities, midnight meetings, and unspoken emotions, "Shadows of Mirkwood" explores the profound connection between two souls destined to protect their realm and, in the process, find solace in each other's arms. As they face the ultimate quest to destroy the Ring, their love becomes a beacon of hope in the face of overwhelming darkness. Will their love withstand the challenges of secrecy, duty, and the temptation of the Ring, or will the shadows that brought them together also tear them apart?

Thirty years after the events of The Hobbit, Legolas heeds his father's words to go north and find a wanderer named Strider. However, his search for Strider comes with danger: orcs. So when he is saved from a deadly ambush by a mysterious, yet cunning she-elf, Legolas does all he can to unmask her true identity while staying focused on his mission. Miranna Foxglove's Elven parents were slain by orcs when she was just an elfling; she has a scar -an emotional and physical one- to remember that night. When hordes of orcs start roaming Middle Earth once more, Miranna, along with her mare, tracks them and exterminates them along the way while finding the orc who killed her parents. She does not expect to find two things during her hunt: the Elven prince of Mirkwood and a place that has always waited for her to call home. [Mirkwood based fan fiction] The king had quiet life after the battle of of the five armies. Middle Earth had become peaceful again. One day, he had received a letter from the queen. He believed his wife was gone but he was wrong. Thranduil was pushed into a crazy ride. He had to fight an evil protagonist with his wives beside him. (Yes, wives.) See how Thranduil and his family deal with the secrets of Mirkwood. Disclaimer: I do not own Lord of the Rings or any of the characters from that book in the story. New characters however, are mine. *currently in need for a new cover =)
