DISCLAIMER- obviously in this henry and lisa don't get married bc that would make sal and larry brothers and ew. this is a hc that they don't get married.
sally is a 16 year old kid who, after one of the many tragic events in his life, went mute. not a proclamation in protest or a call to action or a form of rebellion. just- he stopped talking.
larry is a 16 year old boy who, after the disappearance of his dad, started coping in some "less than normal" ways. he thinks that it's bs if someone thinks he's out of line.
when sal moves to nockfell he meets larry, and little does he know, larry will be his saving grace.
tw: honestly not sure what i'm gonna do yet with the triggers but just expect a lot of angst- sh, suicide mention, alcoholism, substance abuse, etc.
this story also probably won't be quite as near to the plot as some other hcs are but i just wanted to use these characters bc i love them. also i might make henry a drunk i havent decided yet.
also i saw another person write something along the lines of being mute similar to this so that's what this is based off of. remind me to give credit bc imma forget after i've written the first chapter.

@RANDOM28lol contacted me with a story idea where they asked if they could write the poems in the story. I didn't feel like I could write the story they wanted me to but I asked them to send me one of the poems. The poem inspired me. ❤ So I suggested another concept of the story and they agreed. All the poems in the story are written by the talented @RANDOM28lol. Harry has lost his voice. He has been mute for years. Ever since his family was brutally murdered in their home. He suffers from PTSD and survivor's guilt. Thinking that not allowing himself to talk somehow honor the death of his family. It's a lonely life. He has no one to talk to. Doctors and therapists have given up on him. He writes poems as a way to express how he feels. He also writes at work. Running the gossip section of The Sun is something he despises but he's a journalist and he needs a job. No one tries to talk to him at work either. It's his own fault. But he hates how they go silent and then whisper about him as he enters the newsroom in the mornings. He keeps to himself. Until the new sports journalist catches his eye. Beautiful. Blue eyes. Wonderful smile. To his surprise, the man knows sign language and he's also determined to talk to him. Life as he knows it changes. It's scary. Will he be able to actually overcome his trauma? Travis struggles, a lot. It would be hilarious to say he is a kind boy to others except- he may be? He struggles with all the pressure from his family but will someone be there to help him? I had this prompt suggested to me years ago. Unfortunately, the person who suggested it got lost in my DM's and I'm sorry about that. If you recognize your suggestion, please contact me so I can give you credit. ♥️ I don't remember much from the suggestion. Just that one of them is a solo artist and touch deprived and the other one is a professional cuddler. I might have twisted it around but I focused on that. Harry always wanted to be an artist and when he finally gets signed to a label it has strings attached. He has to hide his omega status. He's willing to make that sacrifice. His manager Jeff made sure that he was only surrounded by betas and that he used a beta masking spray. Harry was so busy touring he didn't have time for any personal relationships. Finally, the consequences of his choices caught up with him. After waking up one night in excruciating pain and being brought to the hospital the doctor told him that he suffered from a condition called Severe Touch deprivation. Every fiber in his body hurts from the lightest touch. The only thing that could help him now was something called Sensory and Touch Therapy.
