Some of their own accord, some of curses and sometimes they are made against their own conscience. 

The ever-so prosperous Narnia finds itself growing barren from within as a troubled Just King struggles to find himself in the pieces Jadis had left behind. Even more so when unwanted curses uncloak itself and Edmund loses himself in the madness of Jadis' cruelty yet again.

Everything he touches, everything he feels, everything he loves; it all turns cold and hollow. Twisted thoughts and intolerable nightmares haunt him. He finds himself slowly slipping away and into the darkness. 

He resents the thought of corrupting yet another thing he loves or anyone else, and so he wastes away in his chambers and with the curse slowly killing him from within. Will he go in search of help before it's too late or will he rot away?All Rights Reserved

Around a year after they have returned from Narnia Edmund falls ill and the doctors believe they cannot save them. A message from Aslan reaches the Pevensies; they can save Edmund if they go to Narnia, for the illness will not exist in that world. All 4 can go, but Edmund will never be able to return, for if he does he will die. When the siblings arrive in Narnia they hear Caspian has called them, for trouble has been stirring. None of them could have predicted what a simple game of hiding and seek would lead to. What destiny was laid out before them. Least of all the girl whom lived twice.
