"Freydis, Astrid and I would never have been friends if it weren't for what lead us to the thrall trade. Freydis was a performer in her father's circus, she could toss fire like no man ever could and scare any audience into applause. Unlike Freydis and I who mourned of the family we never saw again, Astrid was an orphan who I believe left somewhat of her own accord. Through a series of whatever life events she chose to omit from us, she was thrown out of her orphanage and into the thrall trade. I was a noble woman. I stole goods and medicines for the poor when I found out about the corruption and greed that my father had built our house on, and I ended up in the thrall trade because my closest of friends decided my life meant nothing. "
