17 parts Complete This is my first time publishing a story, so any comments or critiques is much appreciated!!
"A Summer's Anxiety" talks a lot about mental health issues and philosophical ideas, so topics like suicide can be brought up or talked about, as well as any other associated topics.
The MC, Mr. Manou, is quite self destructive and has a difficult time accepting anything good that happens to himself. He's a heartbroken, lost, anxiety-filled individual who inches by day-to-day. A journey of him trying to accept his gift in writing, trying to become content about the person he still loves, and fighting rather dark thoughts, all leads to him finding a sense of contentment with himself, but also about his love, Ms. Hou (no this isn't foreshadowing or a play of the actual word).
I wrote this short story because I love someone I can no longer love romantically. It's a unique situation, trust me, and there are just more and more questions than answers. The world is such a difficult place already, and to be honest, I can't ever seem to be at ease with the fact it only gets harder. "A Summer's Anxiety" is supposed to be me trying to find some answers as I pour it all out onto a document.
I hope you enjoy it!
