Rue had spent most of her fifteen years on this planet alone, fending for herself against its darkest parts. When it seems that she'll never escape said darkness, she finds herself being taken in by people that truly understand her. One person in particular who sports the reddest of hair. However, Rue struggles to accept their charity as she feels so strongly about her destiny to spend life all alone. The belief that she deserved the worst it had to give, and the paralysing fear that her abilities will cost her everything she has.
So will she let her guard down and accept them as her own? Or will she push them away so hard that they become out of reach when she needs them most?

She couldn't find her. But while she couldn't find the girl, those distinctions did ensure she never forgot her. That was at least comforting. The woman inspires her to use her training for good and to fight to protect the world alongside other heroes.
