Ella and John White, a married couple, hadn't seen their daughter in months, she was kicked out of the house seven months ago. She was a wild and reckless young lady, but even after Ella made the hardest decision she'd ever had to make as a mother, she continued to look after her girl hoping that she would get the message and change her life. She followed her, knew where she worked and the stores she frequented, hoping to see some change. She never let her know though, scared she might come back begging to come home again, and she would have to turn her away. For the first two months after she was kicked out, she'd come back every so often, drunk and wailing in the streets promising her mom and dad she'd do better.
"Mom, please! Don't you love your little girl anymore?" she slurred out, tears and mascara staining her face, eyes red and tired. "Just let me in mom, I can do better." she banged on the door and the windows. "I know you're in there please."
"Ella baby, let her in, we can't just leave her like this." John pleaded as well.
Ella with tears in her eyes approached the door, arm outstretched reaching for the doorknob, she grabbed a hold of it, and twisted the lock shut, and did the same for the dead bolt before turning and heading to bed.
Ella wanted more than anything to let her baby girl in, but she couldn't she knew she wasn't changed, she was drunk and maybe high right now, and by the morning, after she'd sobered up, she would be gone, and several pieces of jewelry or loose change, anything she could sell or pawn would be gone along with her, she couldn't take that heartbreak anymore.
