"Bec-" Her breathing hitched.
"Because I love you, you dolt!" She screamed, a tear rolling down her cheek. Her hand flew to her mouth.
"You...what?" He said, taken aback.
"Stop. Just stop. Everything that becomes important to me has always been taken away, and you are one of those. But this time...You walked away yourself." She shook her head and swept past him, speedwalking away. That was it. She was so done with men.
But the boy just stood there, realizing that he had just lost the most important thing in his life too.
