"Because I love you, you dolt!" She screamed, a tear rolling down her cheek. Her hand flew to her mouth.
"You...what?" He said, taken aback.
"Stop. Just stop. Everything that becomes important to me has always been taken away, and you are one of those. But this time...You walked away yourself." She shook her head and swept past him, speedwalking away. That was it. She was so done with men.
But the boy just stood there, realizing that he had just lost the most important thing in his life too.

Annabeth Chase lost hope in them years ago, when her mother got diagnosed with cancer. Nothing was ever handed to her on a platter let alone on a silver one.

Who to believe in? Herself? That was all that she did. She didn't depend on others, all she needed was herself. But, why?
Percy Jackson went through hell and back to get where he is today, but the darkness and the memories still unsettlingly clung to him. But that darkness was not always from the past...
Forget.
How could he forget the past? It resided in his dreams and hid in his house. It peeked out of corners when he least expected it. Percy Jackson could not forget what had happened. It was tiresome.
Smile.
That was all he did. Smile. Like a piece of meat, dead on the inside. His mind was penetrated with a thousand things, none of them helping. It was agonizing.
This is an AU so there are no demigods or gods.

Okay, so I'd just like to say that this is not well written whatsoever lol. All the grammar is correct, and there's some decent description, but it all feels very rushed if I'm honest. I tried to cram too many ideas in and yeah, it made.. whatever this is. Uh, I have some one-shots on my profile which might be better to read?... If you don't mind a fic being rushed this is probably great for you, lol, but the plot line is very higgledy piggeldy. Um, enjoy? Percy X Apollo Percy Jackson is tired. Of everything. He and Annabeth broke up after the fall into Tartarus, neither being able to look at the other the same way. Sure, they stayed friends, but that doesn't make Percy feel any better about it. Some of the gods are concerned, but Zeus is forbidding them from checking in on him, intent on leaving demigods alone despite all they've done for the Olympians. Apollo, however, is ignoring this order. He cares a little too much about Percy to watch him suffer in silence. But when a new threat arises, how will the Olympians handle it? How will the demigods handle it? This is very all over the place, but I think it turned out well in the end. (This is future me in brackets, btw, it did not turn out well lmao). In this story, Nico is overprotective of Percy (still solangelo though) as a best friend. He's forgiven Percy for the whole ordeal about Bianca and now they're pretty close, both confiding in each other about things they never thought they'd tell a soul. The ships are: Pipabeth - Piper + Annabeth Chrisse - Clarisse + Chris Solangelo - Nico + Will Valgrace (platonic) - Jason + Leo because I despise Caleo sorry lmao Perpollo - Percy + Apollo I do not own any of these characters, all rights are to Rick Riordan other than the storyline/plot.
