Ever since he woke from his coma in February 2011--six months after the Manila tour bus incident in August 2010--Hong Kong is cursed with chronic chest pains and heart problems. This August of 2013, he crosses paths with a hyper, cheerful girl named Philia, the Outer Philippine Islands, and later finds that he is attracted to her. And she may be the only one who will save him from his curse... Author's note: It's ongoing as of May, but I am planning on having it finished by mid- to late August this year. I started writing this fan fiction in June, and I uploaded the first chapter in September on my FF.net and on DeviantART in October on the same year. To be basic, it's loosely based off of the tour bus hostage crisis in Manila in August 20, 2010 in which all eight Hong Kong tourists were shot and killed by a rogue Filipino police officer. This fan fiction, in particular, tells of Hong Kong and how he was suffering the aftermath three years later (this story takes place in 2013), with some backstory, and how it affects others around him, as well as encountering that one girl--the personification of the Philippines, in particular--and how Hong Kong steadily falls in love with her despite the diplomatic spat between their two countries. (Plus Iceland's reaction to it.) Just a disclaimer, though: This fan fiction does NOT IN ANY WAY glorify the deaths of the eight Hongkongers who died in August 2010. In fact *SPOILER ALERT* both the countries settled the spat in April last year and set it aside, so there's really no need to glorify it. This also stemmed from a headcanon that Hong Kong himself was among the eight tourists who were killed; but because he's a nation, he went into a coma for six months. And this is to the point where I stop my blabbering. Just a few more things, though.
